There is nothing like having a beautiful driveway leading up to a home. After pulling in, then you step onto a well-maintained walkway that leads to the front door. Driveways and walkways are important parts of the appeal of our homes, and there are many different types to choose from.
Many people choose asphalt for their driveway, and concrete for their walkway. Both of these have advantages, but comes down to personal preference in a lot of ways. COncrete tends to be not as hot in the sun as asphalt though.
Concrete can be simply broomed, and is often the most common finish to see on concrete. It can also be antiqued, stamped, or otherwise colored to give it even more appeal.
Other types of driveway and walkway materials include concrete pavers, stone, even decking and recycled plastics! Whatever type you choose, be sure to keep it well-maintained. You can do this by regularly cleaning. Also, keeping vegetation and roots trimmed back. Sealing occasionally is very important for asphalt driveways, and make sure to fill in any cracks so they don’t get any larger.
By choosing the right material, maintaining whatever you choose well, and keeping things clean, your driveway and walkways will continue to be a beautiful introduction to your home for years to come.
